Originally from Marion, Indiana – a city known for its rich basketball heritage – Coach Jones brings a lifetime of love for the game. As a player, he competed for two years at Pensacola State College and then finished his collegiate career at Arkansas State, sharpening his skills and gaining a deeper understanding of team dynamics, competition, and perseverance.
Additionally, Coach Jones has been a vital member of the Lighthouse Christian Academy family for over 12 years, pouring into young athletes and helping shape them on and off the court. For the past three years, he has served as an assistant coach with the college team, learning the ins and outs of the college-level game while continuing to develop his leadership approach. His coaching style blends technical precision, player development, and a commitment to spiritual growth – key values that align perfectly with the mission of Lighthouse Christian College.
Now as Head Coach, Morris Jones is focused on building a competitive and disciplined team, where character, work ethic, and faith come first. Also, his past coaching experience at Pensacola State, combined with his long-standing dedication to the Lighthouse program, gives him a unique perspective that inspires his players to grow both as athletes and as individuals.
