Makos Power Past Bobcats 49-22, Set Sights on Highlanders Clash

The Lighthouse Christian College Makos showed no signs of slowing down Saturday, September 20th, as they outlasted the South Florida Technical College Bobcats in a high-energy battle at Gulf Breeze Stadium, claiming a 49-22 victory.

Behind a relentless offensive attack, the Makos found the end zone seven times. Jamarkus Jefferson powered through with two touchdowns and game total of 130 rushing yards, while Deon Morris matched his energy with two touchdowns of his own and a game total of 99 receiving yards. Braylan Green, Trent Medlin, and Terrence Miller each added touchdowns, keeping the scoreboard active throughout the game and the Makos firmly in control. Kicker Logen Roberts added the finishing touch, nailing every extra-point attempt.

On the defensive side, the Makos continued to set the tone by refusing to let the Bobcats gain momentum. Jaden Stuckey, Bryce French, and Camelus Colley each recorded sacks, while Paul Gatley Jr. delivered a crushing tackle for loss that stalled the Bobcat drive. Special teams made their presence felt when Zakari Jackson pounced on a fumble during a kickoff return, shifting momentum firmly in Lighthouse’s favor.

With another statement win in the books, the Makos now turn their focus to their next challenge — a highly anticipated showdown with the Gordon State College Highlanders. Coming down from Barnesville, Georgia, the Highlanders bring size, speed, and plenty of toughness. Fans can expect a true test of grit and determination when these two programs collide under the lights at Gulf Breeze Stadium on Saturday, October 4th at 2:00 pm.
